Rachel Car Johnson (vocals/co-composer) and George Wabisca (guitars/co-composer) met while despondently working in a commercial business complex. After having passed each other in the routine environment for nearly seven months, fate intervened.

Being that both were already involved in music-related projects, Car primarily producing and engineering for solo artists, Wabisca playing lead in a range of rock/jazz bands, it took a few additional years before the pair began collaborating. Since 2003, they have partnered on nearly forty tracks and have formed the four-member band Undercurrent, which includes the resolute drummer J.L and thundering bassist Fabio Novitsky.

With Undercurrent, Car and Wabisca aim to bring back sincerity in recording as well as the glam of yesterday's rock. Their live performances promise a spiffed and liquored up group of highly motivated and talented individuals - the likes of which are simply not seen anymore. Car's deep, powerful voice is real rock and highly addictive. Wabisca is at ease and truly transformed with his instrument. His skill is immediately apparent and far exceeds that of those generating the repetitious power cord fervor flooding clubs and radio today.

They compose original compositions in their studio, armed with a variety of vintage synthesizers, guitars, oscillators, and pedals before laying final album cuts at Hollywood Sound Recorders.

Undercurrent has completed their inventive debut self-titled album and nearly completed their sophomore effort, Both Ways. This follow up album features another eight tracks with an even larger, more vampish sound.

Rachel Car (a native of Los Angeles, California), George (British Columbia, Canada), J.L (Stillwater, Oklahoma) and Fabio (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) currently reside and perform in Hollywood, California.
